  1. I am an existing customer with Northern Rock, having made regular and reliable payments. My current mortgage deal finishes in three months and I will have to pay, as an existing customer, an extra 2%. This will cause me hardship and puts me in a vulnerable position. If Northern Rock wishes to carry out a profitable, stable, and customer driven business, why does it not offer all of its deals to everyone, both new and existing customers. I would like an answer to this because I genuinely do not understand why existing customers are treated with such contempt. These are difficult times for all of us and it would be nice to feel that Northern Rock is on the side of all its customers, both new and existing.
