Conservative Leader David Cameron has attacked Labour for their “completely reckless” decision to brief the press about a possible Stamp Duty holiday.
He stressed that by allowing speculation to build about a Stamp Duty suspension, Labour have “frozen” the housing market:
“When it comes to the crisis in our housing market they seem intent on making things worse rather than better.”
David Cameron also accused Labour of being more interested in “press handling and headlines” than the best interests of the country, and urged the Government to adopt our plans to abolish Stamp Duty for 9 out of 10 first-time buyers.
Mr Cameron later held talks with the National Association of Estate Agents to discuss ways to free up the housing market.
