The European Central Bank has decided to keep interest rates within the eurozone at 4.0%, the 11th consecutive month without a rate change.
High inflation, a record 3.6% in March, as a result of high food and fuel prices is seen as the reason why interest rates have remained unchanged. However, some analysts are expecting interest rates to fall later this year as there are now signs of a slowdown in the European economy.
