Prescotts housing plans slated

Deputy PM John Prescott’s plans to build thousands of new homes has been condemned as “clumsy, insensitive and rushed” - by the Urban Task Force, a group set up by Mr Prescott himself.

The Urban Task Force said that Mr Prescotts house plans were poor, lacked adequate transport links and were inferior when compared to similar schemes in Europe.

Chairman of the Urban Task Force, Lord Rogers, said the wrong approach to property development could “saddle generations to come with a legacy of failure”.

Lord Rogers saud that the country had reached a pivotal time for urban regeneration and quantity should not be placed before quality.

“Good design should be at the heart of the Government’s regeneration agenda.” He also called upon the Deputy PM to take a fresh look at his policies in this area.

Lord Rogers also said high-quality urban renewal was being held back by a “confusing plethora of public sector generation bodies”.

Prescott is an insensitive and arrogant individual with a big mouth and very little intelligence. His determination to cover the South East and East of England with millions of homes defies logic. Yes, we need more houses - but we also need someone with vision and initiative to project the policy - not Blair’s poodle who thinks he’s a bulldog!
