Estate Agents are lazy

One in three home owners believes estate agents are not working hard enough to sell their homes.

The survey of 40,000 people was conducted by YouGov between May 5 and 13 of which 24,013 of which were homeowners. It found that that 38% of sellers felt that estate agents were lazy when it came to selling their property.

One in five sellers said that their estate agent simply gave up when their property had not sold within six weeks.

However, it’s not just estate agents who are in the firing line. Solicitors were also seen as slow to act with 37% of surveys respondents unhappy with their services.

Recently, Hometrack.co.uk said that the average home is now taking 7 weeks to sell.

The survey will be featured on Channel 4’s Selling Houses which will be screened on Tuesday 28th June.

The programmes presenter, Andrew Winter said :”If you think your agent is being lazy, meet them in person to find out why they aren’t getting results. If they still don’t buck their ideas up, check your contract - and then swap them for someone better.”
