From Monday, Jan 30th - people will be able to find out how much their neighbours, friends and collegues have paid for the homes.
A new service from the Land Registry will allow users to find out who owns a particular property and how much they paid for it. Restrictions associated with a property and it’s boundaries will also be available.
The service will apply to the 19 million registered properties of England and Wales. In order to obtain copies of title plans and registers, users will have to pay £2 per plan.
The Land Registry will run the service from 7am to 12 midnight Monday to Saturday.
However, those seeking historical or genealogical information will have to search elsewhere. Likewise, the search facility will not allo searches by name or details about the internal plans of a building.
